Stephen Constantine Returns as Pakistan Gear Up for Crucial Asian Cup Qualifier Against Myanmar

Pakistan is set to welcome back Stephen Constantine at the helm as preparations begin for a pivotal Asian Cup qualifying clash against Myanmar next month.

The experienced Englishman, who also oversaw their first Asian Cup qualifier round three fixture against Syria in March, is expected to resume duties with the Green Shirts as head coach ahead of their June fixture.

The Pakistan Football Federation’s Normalisation Committee (NC) has laid out an initial training camp plan that begins in Islamabad on June 1. In a strategic move to ensure acclimatization and maximize preparation, the camp is scheduled to shift to Myanmar on June 5, giving players vital time to adjust to local conditions before the all-important qualifier.

The return of Stephen Constantine comes at a critical juncture for Pakistan football ahead of the Myanmar test. The national side has shown flashes of promise but remains in search of consistency and cohesion. With the Asian Cup dream still flickering, this tie against the hosts represents both an opportunity and a test.

Constantine, who has decades of experience in international football, is expected to bring familiar structure, tactical clarity, and renewed purpose to a squad featuring a blend of overseas-based talent and domestic hopefuls. He still hasn’t committed his future to Pakistan, but his return augurs well for the Green Shirts.

With preparations soon underway and the camp dates finalized, Pakistan’s road to redemption starts now—and the journey goes through Yangon.
