Lahore Qalandars to Meet Islamabad United for a Place in PSL X Final

Lahore Qalandars kept their PSL X title hopes alive with a convincing six-wicket win over arch-rivals Karachi Kings to qualify for Eliminator 2.

Chasing 191 for victory at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore reached the target with eight balls to spare, thanks to a dominant top-order performance led by Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman.

Fakhar Zaman got them off to a flyer with a 28-ball 47, giving early momentum to the chase. After Mohammad Naeem fell early, Abdullah Shafique took charge and played one of the innings of the season—an explosive 65 off just 35 balls, including three fours and five towering sixes.

Kusal Perera then added a composed 30 from 24 balls to guide the middle overs, while Bhanuka Rajapaksa finished the job in style with an unbeaten 23 off 12 balls.

Earlier, Karachi Kings were led by their captain David Warner, who made a superb 75 off 52 balls, anchoring the innings after losing partners at regular intervals. The Kings looked on course for a big finish, but regular strikes prevented the final flourish. The Kings eventually posted a competitive 190 for 8, but it never looked enough on a true batting wicket.

Lahore’s win means they will challenge Islamabad United in Eliminator 2 tomorrow to determine who faces Quetta Gladiators for the PSL X title. For Karachi, the loss ends their campaign—one that showed promise but ultimately fell short in a high-pressure knockout clash.
