Tourists Advised Against Travelling to Naran Kaghan for Four Days

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority has advised tourists to avoid traveling to Naran and Kaghan from June 15 to June 18 due to ongoing construction at the Mahandri Bridge.

The Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad (MNJ) Road will remain closed during this period as work continues on installing a 33-foot-wide steel bridge to replace the one that was swept away in last year’s flash floods.

According to DPO Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, the new bridge is essential to restore safe, two-way traffic flow and manage the expected tourist influx during the summer season.

The previous bridge’s destruction had caused prolonged suspension of inter-provincial travel between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Tourists are strongly encouraged to postpone their trips to Naran and Kaghan during these four days and instead use the Karakoram Highway for travel toward Gilgit-Baltistan.

Authorities emphasize that this measure is necessary to ensure safety and facilitate the timely completion of the bridge work. Normal traffic on the MNJ Road is expected to resume after June 18.
