Traffic Fines to Increase Massively in Entire Province

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to increase traffic fines in the 2025-26 budget.

According to the finance bill, a separate fine slab has been introduced for three-wheeled vehicles such as rickshaws, including loaders, with proposals to raise fines from Rs. 200 to Rs. 10,000.

These vehicles will face a fine of Rs. 5,000 for violating route permits, with a suggestion to double the fine for repeat violations.

Furthermore, the finance bill proposes fines ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 for those caught driving vehicles with fake licenses. There are also proposed increases in fines for underage drivers.

The bill suggests a fine of Rs. 3,000 for individuals under 18 years of age riding motorcycles and Rs. 5,000 for those driving vehicles underage.

The proposed increases in traffic fines will become official once a formal notification is issued by the relevant authorities. Until then, the current fines will remain in effect, and the proposed changes will not be enforced.
