Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Lt. General Sajjad Ghani (retd) tendered resignation from his position on Friday, citing personal reasons.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, appreciating his services, has forwarded his resignation to the Cabinet Division for approval. The premier also praised his services to WAPDA.
The chairman played a key role in effectively managing the national institution and overseeing major projects in the energy sector, said the prime minister.
Ghani, a civil engineer and soldier, was appointed as the 23rd chairman of WAPDA for a period of five years back in 2022.
