In a landmark move to enhance data accuracy and public trust, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new initiative urging citizens to voluntarily report any incorrect information on their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).
According to an official public notice, individuals who have obtained CNICs using false details—either knowingly or unintentionally—can now come forward and update their records without facing legal penalties.
NADRA has assured that those who voluntarily disclose such discrepancies will be provided legal protection under this special drive.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging transparency and correcting identity records across the country. NADRA emphasized that maintaining accurate citizen data is essential for both national security and the effective functioning of public services.
However, the authority warned that individuals who fail to report inaccuracies may face legal consequences. The public has been advised to visit their nearest NADRA registration centers to verify and rectify any errors in their personal information.
