Pakistan Storms Into Semifinals of Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship With Perfect Record

Pakistan’s junior netball team continued to make an emphatic statement at the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship in South Korea, securing five consecutive victories to finish the group stage unbeaten and book their place in the semifinals.

On Tuesday, the young Pakistani side wrapped up their Pool B campaign with a hard-fought 49-39 win over the Maldives, their closest encounter in the tournament so far. The team had already confirmed top spot in their group after cruising past Japan by a dominant 79-39 margin.

The Pakistan junior netball team’s run has been nothing short of remarkable. In addition to defeating Japan and the Maldives, Pakistan overcame hosts South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Chinese Taipei in earlier fixtures, showcasing consistency, confidence, and an attacking style that has overwhelmed their opponents.

Their next challenge will be a semifinal clash against Japan on Thursday, July 3.

The championship has seen the Pakistani team grow in self-belief with each passing game. Their success is a positive reflection of the development work being done behind the scenes to nurture and acquire young talent from across the globe, despite limited resources.

Victory in the semifinal would see Pakistan contest the final and give them a shot at their first Asian Youth Girls Netball title—a moment that could inspire a new generation of players across the country.

For now, though, the squad will take confidence from an unbeaten group stage and look to carry that momentum into the knockout rounds.
