Chicken Now Costs Rs. 30 More per Kilo in the Market

The cost of broiler chicken has jumped by Rs. 30 per kilogram, leaving consumers concerned about rising prices.

Despite the government’s efforts to regulate rates, chicken meat continues to be sold above the official price in local markets.

While authorities have set the retail price for chicken at Rs 577 per kg, actual market rates range from Rs 595 to Rs 610 per kg.

Shoppers report that no shop is following the government’s pricing, and a recent market survey found that vendors are charging Rs. 20 to 30 more per kilogram than the approved rate. This ongoing price hike is adding to the financial strain faced by many households.
