New Traffic Plan Announced for Rawalpindi as Schools Reopen

Rawalpindi’s City Traffic Police (CTP) has announced a new traffic management plan aimed at easing congestion on major roads and around educational institutions as schools and colleges reopen across the district.

According to a CTP spokesperson, additional traffic personnel will be deployed on busy highways and outside schools and colleges. Forklifts will also be stationed in key areas to tackle illegal parking and prevent disruptions to traffic flow.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam directed circle and sector in-charges to prepare detailed traffic strategies for their respective areas, with a particular focus on school zones. He emphasized the need to provide the best possible arrangements for citizens during peak school hours.

The plan strictly prohibits double parking, parking on one-way streets, and setting up pushcarts outside schools. Extra officers will be on duty during school dismissal hours to ensure that traffic remains smooth.

The CTO further warned that strict action will be taken against anyone obstructing traffic or creating difficulties for other road users. He also appealed to school and college administrations to allocate clear pick-and-drop lanes outside their campuses.

Urging citizens to cooperate, CTO Aslam called on drivers and parents to follow traffic rules responsibly to avoid chaos during rush hours.
