Internet Services in Pakistan Likely to be Disrupted After Damage to Submarine Cable

PTCL Group said Saturday that internet users in Pakistan may face slow speeds during peak hours due to submarine cable cuts in Saudi waters near Jeddah.

The company reported that the disruption has affected partial bandwidth capacity on the SMW4 and IMEWE cable systems, which carry international internet traffic, the Group stated.

According to the Company, its international partners are working on a priority to repair the affected systems.

The Group added that its local teams are arranging alternative bandwidth to reduce the impact on customers.

It appreciates the patience and understanding of users while restoration efforts continue, the Company stated.
