The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) is planning to establish model examination centers equipped with modern facilities to improve testing standards for students, Chairman Dr. Ikram Ali Malik said on Friday.
According to the FBISE chief, each center will feature a library along with computer and science laboratories to conduct both theoretical and practical examinations. He added that controlled examination centers would provide a more streamlined and transparent process.
Dr. Malik said land had already been allocated for the project, though final approval was still awaited.
Addressing concerns over examination fees, Dr. Malik announced that a special committee had been formed to recommend a mechanism for waiving fees for students from low-income families.
He stated that students already registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme or other welfare institutions would be provided free education, with no fee charged to those deemed eligible.
