The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) carried out a successful operation in Ferozewala, seizing and destroying over 60,000 kilograms of expired frozen chicken, 400 kilograms of fungus-infected spices, and large quantities of rotten vegetables from a cold storage facility.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of PFA Director General Asim Javed, with food safety teams discovering foul-smelling and hazardous frozen chicken products, including karahi boti, chicken tikka boti, fajita, liver, neck pieces, and kebabs. All contaminated stock was immediately confiscated and destroyed.
Officials revealed that expired and fresh stock had been stored together on the same racks, a serious violation of safety standards. The condition of the cold storage was described as extremely poor, with even dead rats found on the premises.
Investigations further disclosed that this substandard meat and spices were being supplied to well-known food chains, supermarkets, and large restaurants, posing a major risk to public health.
DG Asim Javed warned that consumption of the seized meat could have had severe health consequences if it reached the market.
During the operation, expired chicken worth more than Rs 61.5 million was destroyed. Authorities imposed a fine of Rs 1 million on the offenders, while two suspects were arrested and cases registered against them for food safety violations and fraud.

How come the food department reached when the stock is around 60000 KG. It means the contaminated food is already in the market . they must have destroyed from the supplied one.
Just claims. Not to mention they promised to take action against flour price increase
To this day no action despite high prices of flour and wheat
Yes good question… when the stock was around 60000 KGS food department came for a check. It means the kick backs stopped so they took the action. Must check how much meat was there at the first place.
60000 kg is not a big stock on industrial scale where a days cutting is more than 100000.
Yeah no one is buying this nonsense anymore
You have raids claiming that you seized this and that .
In the meantime prices of food increased despite govt warnings to keep prices low.
From finance minister to the plastic doll to govt officials.
No raids
No price control
No action taken
No police
Not a single raid by anyone to stop price
increases
It is good that Punjab Government is very much strict on it and have taken a strict action. But Why they Do NOT Disclose the names of such Company/ C9mpanies in Public, so the people may knoabout them and be careful in buying such foods from the Market and well known Super Stores, of such Companies involved in it, which is Hazardous for the Public Health. The Health Department should keep an Eye on them and pay a regular visits to those Companies.
but didnt. mention name of rhe coy. which was of prime imp. for pubiic safety. so sad n poor news
They should Name and Shame.
It works well in other countries.
SABROSO
What w6thw harm in naming the company or brand ?

P. F. A needs to become more preemptive, improve its I network , plan and carry out Sting operations .
Also must get to the sales points where this poison has reached in stores / outlets.
Congrats DG FPA !
Your paper must give the culprit’s name, otherwise, the effect wwill be negliblie.Salams.
What about other frozen product ? Who these money makers are plying with public, who are already under heavy taxes. Do they have fear from Allah?
This sounds too good to be true. If anyone doing bad work at this scale would definitely have connections with bad peoples so would not get caught
Why the name of culprits is always hidden and not disclosed. This shows that there is something…….
By hiding the name u r giving them shelter and u r becoming equally responsible in this bul-lshit
Please also mention the name of industry so that consumers must know
Well done team but make sure they can’t run their business after some kind of under hand deal. 👍
Was the facility locked until improved to food safety standards
The criminals should have been named so that we bycott those idiots.
Which company
Company Name should be disclosed
Aoa why not mentioned the food chain name?
Name of company…?? why PFA feel shy to disclose name of that brand or restaurant.
Nothing good can come out of corrupt bureaucrats who make wild claims and nothing to prove … These worthless scums are even afraid to mention the name of the company … Expired chicken worth 61 Mn and fine is only 1Mn … May the curse of Allah be on such a DG Foof
The Most important: Company name which was raided not mentioned. May be raiders or this news paper are bargaining to get bribery from that company. Both acts from both sides are Shameful
No names?
Where’s the transparency for public?
Why don’t they name the offenders. It means there is something fishy on the part of Food Authority.
😉
Name of the company
Company ka naam likhte huay moat parti hai…. Awam ko ye tau bata dau k company kon c hai???
Why not mention name of company??
Bundle baaaaaz :) All punjab Govt departments made for selfies and fake news
They should mention the Company name in news, so that public should be aware of the culprits.
Where’s the proof?
It seems to be fake news for our consumption, itself more cintaminated than the expired chicken.
The other day DG PFA was giving an apparently stage-managed interview, standing near two large, supposedly, miĺk containers, blocking a village street. A small quantity of milk was seen spilled near these containers. The DG was claiming to have confisted and spilled thousands of litres of artificially prepared milk.
When the interviewer asked the DG about the chemicals and other ingrediants normally used in spurios milk, he was unable to answer.
why not the property confiscated.6 crore unhealthy products seized fine only 10 lac that is 1.6%fine too low to stop this crime
Useless awareness if not telling who’s the culprit
Another so called reporting from you guys. Why the heck not memtioning the name of compamy. These compainies don’t fall under privacy laws. Either they are khabees or you are with them by protecting their names. Say the name so people can avoid buying their products. These un-named report also makes you part of their organizations.
بڑا گھٹیا قسم کا پاکستانی میڈیا ہے خبر دے کر بھی دیہاڑی لگا لیتے ہیں ۔
Why this offender food company’s name is not being told to the public???
Should have been fined 100million with confiscation of all the property and imprisonment to the owner. Imagine thousands of people going to hospital after consuming this rotten stuff.
Bhai company ka naam btao… Taakay public ko pta chalay k kon kia kr rha.
Tum log shayad paisay lete ya dartay ho, food walon ki tarha, jo naam nhi disclose krte.
Khaak tumhe public ki tnsn hai.
Aewaeen khabar bna dete jhooti
AGAIN NO NAME UTTERED.. SHAMEFUL REPORTING
Please publish the name of the supplier so that people know who are the culprits?
Thanks to make it news, but worthless if not identified the name of restaurants or a fake news to justify in general!
Pro Pakistani is always known to take a portion of bribe for not exposing the name of commercial or industrial entity.ferozewala is a city, not a meat storage facility.why hesitate to expose the culprit.
In Pakistan we never hear the name of the violaters not even the brand name they are supplying the food. If the PFA team is serious and not helping the violators and are seriously concerned about the public health then they must disclose the name in public interest or atleast the brand name as they must have supplied the expired food to the market which will still be available for sale.
How come every time they conveniently miss the Supplier’s name, responsible people in the chain of ownership & management AND their customer list (because the supplied come to know immediately about the standard & quality of the supplied meat – hence their complacency and being part of the game by paying less for it, making hefty profits)
Why my comment is awaiting moderation where I have not used wrong language… Just asked a simple question from the editor about standard of reporting??
