The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ramped up its drive to tackle the rising number of stray dogs in Islamabad, acting on directives from Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Joint teams from the CDA and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) are actively engaged in citywide operations to capture and relocate stray dogs.
Complaint System Strengthened
To ensure quick response, residents can now easily report stray dog sightings. The dedicated helpline 1334 is fully operational and available 24/7 for complaints from both urban and rural areas. Complaints can also be filed through the DC Office portal.
Stray Dog Centre Operations
Improved facilities have been set up at the Stray Dog Centre in Tramri, where captured dogs are vaccinated and safely relocated. The authority is following the Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Release (TNR) method, ensuring humane management of the dog population.
Citywide Impact
Between July and September 2025, CDA teams removed hundreds of dogs from residential sectors, markets, and rural areas, including G-14, D-12, F-6, F-7, I-9, I-10, G-10, and F-11. Reports from Saidpur, Margalla Town, Bara Kahu, and the Red Zone were also promptly acted upon. In total, more than 550 stray dogs were shifted to the Stray Dog Centre during this period.
Safety and Welfare Focus
Chairman Randhawa stressed that these measures are aimed at creating a safer and more comfortable environment for the people of Islamabad while effectively bringing the stray dog population under control.

acha, tu kuttay sirf ISB mein hain, Baki cities mein koi kuttay nahi hain.?
A similar action is desperately needed in Lahore too. The number of stray dogs has arisen to an alarming number in Lahore, making it highly dangerous for people on motorcycles, in particular early mornings and evenings. I wonder where are the concerned authorities.
There are so many stray dogs sighted in B 17 please their removal is very important to avoid any potential risks

Subject: Request for Action Against Stray Dogs
To,
The Chairman,
Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad.
Respected Sir,
This is to bring to your kind attention that the number of stray dogs in the River Garden area has been increasing significantly, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the residents. The situation poses serious threats to the safety of children and elderly citizens in particular.
It is worth mentioning that during the initial operation, your team captured 13 stray dogs. However, some dogs were left behind, and their number has since multiplied, making the situation more alarming.
It is therefore humbly requested that immediate and effective measures be taken once again on an urgent basis to capture the remaining stray dogs and ensure the safety and well-being of the residents of River Garden.
Sincerely,
(Mohsin Ali)
Resident, River Garden zone v islamabad

Inna lilla hi wa inna elahe rajioun
Good initiative but more work is still required around D-12 Markaz and linking streets, please.
This is all a hoax. The relocation/rehab center is appalling & animals are in poor condition another scam by the administration
I understand how people can be afraid of some dogs, especially when in groups but from my experience when living there for 3 years , dogs were afraid of people and there was a lot of cruelty, neglect and shocking abuse. I have witnessed young children abusing defenceless dogs or puppies. I think education can contribute to treating animals in a humane way. Simply giving food or water when you see a sick.or thin animal. I’m concerned about “complaints”. What are the complaints. Will all dogs be treated badly or rounded up even when they have done nothing wrong. What will the CDA do to them.
In G-8/4 many dogs are walking in roads. I request to CDA to kill these dogs
Stray and possibly rabid dogs are like a plague near the “shelter”/ Dog centre in Teramri. They even bite people which strays in many areas don’t, it’s just corruption and ineptitude in the name of animal welfare, especially exploiting the sentiment of people who stay in their cars.
Ghouri town has a lot of dogs .plz do something to save kids and people
There is no option on DC office portal. Please add portal address if it’s different website.
