Punjab to Build 1,000 Houses for Low-Income Families

The Punjab government has announced the launch of the Punjab Affordable Housing Programme in collaboration with the World Bank, aimed at constructing 1,000 houses for low-income families in Khanewal district.

According to officials, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Salma Suleman has allocated 100 kanals of land in Khanewal for a housing project that aims to provide affordable and sustainable homes to deserving families.

To mark World Stage Day, a seminar was held at the District Council Hall, jointly organized by the Punjab Affordable Housing Programme team and the district administration. The event was attended by Programme Director Imran Ali Sultan, ADC(G) Ghulam Mustafa Sihar, and a large number of female students, teachers, and women from different sectors who expressed their aspirations for owning homes.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Salma Suleman emphasized that the project goes beyond providing shelter—it represents hope and the fulfillment of long-held dreams for many families in the district.
