First Test Tube Baby Born in DI Khan

Dera Ismail Khan has reported its first successful birth through in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), marking a historic breakthrough for couples struggling with infertility in the region.

The procedure was carried out by the medical team at Abida Infertility ICSI & Maternity Home Services (AIIMS) in collaboration with Rehmania Hospital. The initiative was led by fertility specialists Dr Anila Rehman and Dr Sobia Rehman, who used advanced reproductive technology to achieve the milestone.

Speaking to reporters, Dr Anila said the IVF outcomes were “satisfactory and in line with national standards”, noting that the success would open doors for many families who previously had to travel to major cities for such treatment.

“This success brings hope, happiness and a new beginning for infertile couples in Dera Ismail Khan,” she said.

The team congratulated the parents on the birth of a healthy baby girl and prayed for her well-being and a prosperous future. Medical experts described the development as a promising step in making assisted reproductive treatment accessible to people in smaller cities.
