The UAE Lottery has revealed the first glimpse of the winner of its historic Dh100 million jackpot, triggering a wave of speculation on social media.
On its official website, the operator has listed the winner as Anilkum** B, following its policy of partially masking the identities of winners of major prizes. The masked name appeared among the winners of the Lucky Day draw held on October 18, under a “Super Win” artwork with confetti.
Lottery enthusiasts quickly spotted the name and began circulating it online. Many users claimed that the winner is likely an Indian expat, possibly from Kerala, noting that “Anil” is a common name among the state’s large diaspora in the UAE. Over a million Keralites are estimated to live in the country.
On Sunday, the UAE Lottery issued a statement confirming the landmark win.
“It’s official. The UAE Lottery’s first Dh100 million Grand Prize has been won and verification is now underway,” the operator said.
The jackpot was claimed after a participant matched all seven winning numbers — 7, 10, 11, 18, 25, 29 from the Days’ set and 11 from the Months’ set — during the 23rd draw.
The Dh100 million prize is the largest lottery jackpot ever awarded in the UAE, with odds of winning estimated at 1 in 8,835,372.
The operator said the winner’s full identity remains confidential until internal checks and regulatory approvals are complete.
“We are conducting due diligence to ensure all internal checks, security protocols, and General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority compliance requirements are fulfilled,” the statement added.
According to UAE Lottery rules, winners of prizes above Dh100,000 must claim them in person within 30 days of verification.
More than 100,000 players have won prizes in the Lucky Day draw so far, with over Dh40 million already distributed. Only UAE residents aged 18 and above can participate. A ticket costs Dh50 and offers a chance at the Dh100 million Grand Prize and multiple guaranteed prizes of Dh100,000.
