Oman Announces Public Holiday for 55th National Day Celebrations

The Sultanate of Oman has declared an official holiday for employees in both the public and private sectors in celebration of the country’s 55th National Day, state media reported on Sunday.

According to the Oman News Agency (ONA), an order issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq grants holidays on Wednesday, November 26, and Thursday, November 27, 2025. Normal work will resume on Sunday, November 30, following the weekend.

Celebrating Oman’s 55th National Day

Oman marks its National Day on November 20 and 21 each year, commemorating the nation’s progress and unity. Across the country, the day is celebrated with parades, fireworks, and cultural events, while landmarks and buildings are illuminated in the colors of the Omani flag.

In neighboring countries such as the UAE, the Omani National Day is also honored with special events and the lighting up of prominent landmarks to symbolize regional solidarity and friendship.
