The Shaheen Chowk Underpass project in Islamabad is moving forward at a steady pace, with officials reporting major construction milestones during a visit by Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Sunday.
According to project engineers, 80 percent of the barrel wall work has been completed, while Ramp One walls have reached 60 percent. The barrel girder work is now fully finished, and crews are continuing earthwork, road construction, and Ramp Two wall development round the clock.
Chairman Randhawa, who inspected the site alongside Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza and other CDA officers, expressed satisfaction with the progress. He stressed strict compliance with high-quality construction standards and directed the team to give special attention to landscaping, digital boards, and LED lighting to improve the overall appearance of the underpass.
Randhawa said the Shaheen Chowk Underpass will play a key role in easing traffic congestion in Islamabad by offering signal-free movement for daily commuters and students traveling through the area.
He instructed the Project Director and Resident Engineers to maintain strict monitoring of all ongoing work to ensure the project stays on schedule and meets established quality benchmarks.
