Strict Penalties Announced for Vehicles Without Green Stickers

The Punjab Environment Protection Agency, working with the Punjab Safe City Authority, has launched a major crackdown in Lahore on vehicles operating without mandatory Green Stickers.

Officials have intensified enforcement under a zero-tolerance policy and issued more than 2,000 e-challans in just four days. The department plans to tighten inspections even further in the coming days.

Under the new rules, repeat offenders will face doubled fines, and authorities will impound vehicles on the third violation. The government has also imposed a complete ban on the movement of any vehicle without a Green Sticker inside Lahore and on the motorway.

Officials say the campaign aims to curb pollution and ensure full compliance across the city. Authorities have warned that anyone using fake or self-made stickers will face immediate legal action. Penalties include heavy fines and on-the-spot confiscation of the vehicle.

Traffic Police teams, Anti-Enforcement squads, and check-posts are conducting continuous inspections across Lahore. Issuing a public advisory, officials urged citizens to ensure their vehicles carry a valid Green Sticker.

They stressed that challans and impoundment are now unavoidable for those who ignore the order. The agency asked residents to cooperate with enforcement teams to help reduce smog in the city.
