The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced that all educational institutions, shopping malls, plazas, and commercial centers across the province must now install five-color waste bins.
According to the new directive, separate bins for paper, glass, organic waste, metal, and plastic must be placed in prominent locations. Facilities failing to comply will face strict action.
The EPA highlighted that unsegregated waste increases the burden on waste management systems, making proper source-level segregation essential to protect the environment and ensure effective disposal of trash.
