Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated the T-Chowk Flyover and the Islamabad Expressway Signal-Free Corridor projects, aimed at improving traffic flow in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the prime minister said the team led by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi completed several infrastructure projects to facilitate commuters and transporters using the capital’s road network.
He praised the interior minister, the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and their teams for completing the projects in record time. The T-Chowk Flyover, also known as the Iqbal Chowk Flyover, was completed in 77 days at a cost of Rs. 1.4 billion.
The prime minister said the government remains committed to transparency and quality in development projects and will continue its public service agenda. He also appreciated officers for removing encroachments and addressing illegal constructions that had remained unresolved for decades.
He said illegal encroachments had long hindered the planning and execution of urban development projects in the city.
