Regulatory action against private educational institutions across Sindh has been further intensified. Under the Private Education Act 2013, the registration of 33 private schools has been cancelled for various violations, while fines have been imposed on 10 schools.
According to Additional Director Professor Rafia Mallah, the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions, Sindh, took action after identifying multiple violations under the Private Education Act 2013.
As a result, the registration of 33 private schools was cancelled, and penalties were imposed on 10 others.
The registrations of Gallant Foundation School, Gulshan Hadeed Phase II, Karachi, and Metropolitan School, Federal B Area Block 13 and Block 20 have been suspended.
These schools failed to provide the mandatory 10 per cent free-ship quota to students and instead offered selective fee concessions to a limited number of students.
Professor Rafia Mallah said the action was taken in light of a decision issued on October 19 in response to application No. 1592/2025.
The decision followed a comprehensive review of school fees, registration status, and administrative matters across private institutions.
In total, the registrations of 13 private schools in Karachi and 20 in Hyderabad were cancelled, while 10 schools were fined for illegally increasing fees and committing other administrative irregularities.
Officials stated that several institutions had failed to comply with the provisions of the Private Education Act.
The Directorate has directed all private educational institutions to complete their registrations on time, maintain transparent fee records, and strictly adhere to legal requirements.
Authorities warned that failure to comply would result in stricter legal action.
An official statement confirmed that the decision would be implemented immediately and no concessions would be granted.

Gallant Foundation School is in Phase 1 Gulshan-E-Hadeed not in Phase 2
This government decision is one of their most idiotic ideas. The expenses besides the fee are around the same as the fee these days and there are additional socio-economic pressures. No self respecting person would enroll their children for free (besides school staff and scholarship students) and the trauma of being a free student clings on through your whole life, and they are extremely vulnerable to bad influences.
Corruption will also mean that misuse will be greater than with discounted fee structure.
At least with reduced fee structure in expensive schools you have a better chances of adapting because your family isn’t dirt poor or freeloader, just struggling and more regular people are willing to go the discounted fee route. You also don’t really have to hide it and blend in.
