Saudi authorities have arrested six Pakistani nationals in the Riyadh region while they were receiving a large shipment of narcotics.
According to a security spokesperson, Talal Al-Shalhoub from the Saudi Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, detained the suspects with 71 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The individuals were arrested at the time of receiving the drugs, and legal action has been initiated against them.
In a separate operation, Al-Shalhoub said that two drug smuggling attempts were foiled based on intelligence shared by GDNC with the Oman authorities. During these operations, more than 200 kilograms of narcotics were seized.
The security spokesperson emphasized that Saudi Arabia remains fully committed to combating drug-related crimes that threaten national security and target the country’s youth.
He stated that authorities will continue to monitor such criminal activities closely, prevent smuggling attempts, and bring all those involved to justice.
