PM Shehbaz is a Fan of Gen Z

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s youth as the nation’s greatest asset during the launch of the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Programme in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The event, held at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), marked the beginning of laptop distribution to students, which he described as a vital tool for connecting young minds with the global world of knowledge and opportunities.

In his address, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted that these laptops were not mere devices but essential for empowering youth, particularly Gen Z, who are more tech-savvy than previous generations. He cited examples of students who had used earlier laptops to overcome barriers and build successful careers.

He urged students to use their digital and social media platforms responsibly, warning against the spread of misinformation. “Our educated youth must stand for facts and take responsibility,” he stated. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to merit-based distribution, rejecting claims that such initiatives were political tools.

The Prime Minister further announced several new educational initiatives aimed at benefiting Azad Jammu and Kashmir. These include the establishment of four Danish Schools, the development of a tech-focused Danish University, and the revival of the Prime Minister’s Education Endowment Fund. This fund will offer scholarships to talented but underprivileged students from AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and other regions, including opportunities for studying abroad.

Touching on Kashmir’s ongoing struggle, he expressed unwavering support for the Kashmiri people and reiterated Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic, and political backing for their cause. The Prime Minister called for unity and hard work to achieve national progress and strengthen the bond between Pakistan and Kashmir.
