The Punjab government has ordered the identification and demolition of dangerous and unusable school buildings across the province to ensure student safety, reported 24NewsHD TV on Friday.
Authorities have directed the immediate evacuation of dilapidated school buildings, where educational activities pose a risk to children. The identification of unsafe structures has already been completed under the Annual Development Program (ADP).
The provincial government instructed Deputy Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers (Education) to take urgent action to prevent any loss of life.
The School Education Department has issued alerts to all relevant authorities and ordered the suspension of classes in buildings declared unsafe.
Officials have also been directed to strictly implement the school safety audit report. The government warned that disciplinary action would be taken against negligent officials who fail to comply with the directives.
