Here’s When Flights Between Pakistan and Bangladesh Will Resume

Direct air travel between Pakistan and Bangladesh is set to resume as both countries move toward restoring full aviation connectivity after a prolonged suspension.

According to senior aviation sources, direct flights between Karachi and Dhaka are expected to begin in January, marking a key step in improving bilateral ties.

The development was confirmed after Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, discussed the matter during a courtesy meeting with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus in Dhaka.

Sources said aviation authorities from both countries have formally verified the resumption plan, reflecting warming relations and renewed cooperation. During the meeting, both sides reviewed measures to expand collaboration in aviation, trade and investment, while also encouraging cultural, educational and medical exchanges.

The high commissioner informed the Bangladeshi leadership that bilateral trade has grown by around 20 percent compared to last year, with business communities on both sides exploring fresh investment opportunities.

He also highlighted increased academic interest among Bangladeshi students in Pakistani institutions, particularly in medical sciences, artificial intelligence and nanotechnology.

In addition, officials noted a rise in Bangladeshi patients traveling to Pakistan for specialized medical procedures, including liver and kidney transplants.
