Punjab Green Tractor Scheme Phase-III Eligibility Criteria Announced

The Punjab government has finalized the eligibility criteria for farmers applying under Chief Minister Punjab Green Tractor Scheme Phase-III, aimed at promoting agricultural mechanization.

Director Agriculture Extension Chaudhary Khalid Mahmood said applicants must hold permanent residency in Punjab and possess a valid Computerized National Identity Card. He said only farmers with verified ownership of five acres or more of agricultural land can apply under the scheme.

He clarified that farmers who previously received subsidized tractors under Green Tractor Scheme Phase-I or Phase-II, or benefited from the Wheat Incentive Program, cannot apply again. He added that farmers who defaulted under the Kisan Card facility also remain ineligible.

The Agriculture Department will verify land ownership and applicant credentials through revenue records and field verification. Under the scheme, the tractor will remain registered in the applicant’s name for at least three years, and authorities will strictly prohibit its sale during this period.

Chaudhary Khalid Mahmood said the department will select successful applicants through a digital balloting process. Selected farmers must deposit Rs. 500,000 as their share, along with registration, card, transaction, and number plate fees, within the timeframe mentioned in the allotment letter.

He said beneficiaries must choose a tractor with 50 to 65 horsepower. The government may withdraw the subsidy or reject applications if officials find discrepancies during verification, as authorities will enforce transparency and merit throughout the process.
