The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (CCoSOEs) on Tuesday approved the Procurement Policy of the Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of Pakistan 2025, aimed at streamlining the bank’s procurement operations and strengthening governance in line with international best practices.
The committee met at the Finance Division under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, who joined virtually, along with secretaries and senior officials from relevant ministries, divisions and regulatory bodies.
The approved procurement policy is aligned with the State-Owned Enterprises Act, 2023, and ensures compliance with global Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply standards as well as Public Procurement Regulatory Authority regulations.
In addition to the EXIM Bank decision, the committee reviewed and approved several agenda items submitted by the Ministry of Commerce.
These included the filling of a vacant position of Independent Director and the appointment of a chairman of the board of National Insurance Company Limited, the filling of a vacant Independent Director position on the board of State Life Insurance Corporation, and the appointment of an Independent Director on the board of the Trading Corporation of Pakistan against one of two vacant positions.
The committee also reviewed other SOE-related matters placed before it during the meeting.
