Peshawar Zalmi have revealed the retention amounts for their core players ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) auction.
The franchise put major money behind captain Babar Azam, Sufiyan Muqeem, Abdul Samad, and Ali Raza.
Babar has been retained in the Platinum category for Rs. 7 crore, while Sufiyan Muqeem will earn Rs. 4.48 crore in the Diamond bracket. In Gold, Abdul Samad has been secured for Rs. 2.8 crore, and emerging pacer Ali Raza will receive Rs. 1.96 crore.
Zalmi had already announced their retained players on Tuesday ahead of the PSL 11 players’ auction on February 11, but Wednesday’s update puts a clearer spotlight on the financial commitment behind those calls, especially as the league enters a new era of recruitment.
PSL 11 is set to run from March 26 to May 3 and will introduce a major change to team-building. For the first time in PSL history, the traditional draft has been replaced by an auction model, changing how franchises plan budgets and lock in key names.
Retention rules have also been tightened. For the first 10 seasons, teams could keep up to eight players. Under the updated PSL 11 regulations, franchises can retain only four players across categories, forcing sharper decisions before the auction floor opens.
Ahead of those retentions, Zalmi had 14 players listed across categories. The Platinum list included Babar Azam and Saim Ayub, while Sufiyan Muqeem was the only player placed in Diamond.
The Gold category featured Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Ali, Abdul Samad, Hussain Talat, Ahmed Daniyal, and Ihsanullah. Arif Yaqoob and Mehran Mumtaz were placed in Silver, while Maaz Sadaqat, Ali Raza, and Abdullah Fazal were listed in Emerging.
