Separately, February 5 will be observed as a public holiday in Punjab on account of Kashmir Day, which is marked annually to express solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.

With the inclusion of Kashmir Day and the Basant-related holidays, government offices in Punjab will remain closed for three consecutive days from February 5 to February 7.

Earlier, the Punjab government had announced that Basant celebrations would take place in Lahore under strict regulations after an 18-year hiatus. The newly issued notification formalizes the public holidays linked to the festival.
