Pakistan and India are placed in Group A alongside the United Arab Emirates and Nepal, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and host Thailand.

The women’s fixture comes against the backdrop of Pakistan’s decision to boycott a men’s T20 World Cup match against India, which was also scheduled for February 15, 2026.
Pakistan announced it would not participate in the men’s match due to political and government directives. Despite this, India confirmed it would still travel to Colombo for the men’s World Cup fixture.
While uncertainty continues to surround the men’s contest, the Pakistan Women’s A team is set to face India A as planned in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament, ensuring that cricketing ties between the two nations remain active at the women’s level.
