The Punjab School Education Department has established sports committees at the tehsil and center levels to promote and restore sports activities in public schools across the province.
According to the department, Assistant Commissioners will head Tehsil Sports Committees, which include deputy education officers, sports officers, and headmasters from various schools to oversee sports promotion.
Centre-level sports committees have also been formed under Deputy District Education Officers, with participation from Physical Education Teachers and local sports personalities to strengthen sports engagement among students.
Officials said the committees will operate under defined Terms of Reference to organize competitions, encourage physical activities, and support students’ overall development.
Authorities believe the initiative will help revive sports culture in schools while promoting teamwork, healthy competition, and active lifestyles among students.
