Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has taken notice of the fatal accident on the M-9 Motorway and ordered an immediate inquiry into the incident.
He directed the Inspector General of Motorway Police to investigate the crash and submit a detailed report at the earliest. In a statement, the minister also instructed authorities to strictly enforce vehicle fitness checks, particularly focusing on tire conditions.
He ordered that no vehicle with worn-out, weak, or expired tires be allowed to enter the motorway. He said officials must carry out thorough inspections of all vehicles before permitting access.
The minister emphasized that while commercial transport requires close scrutiny, private vehicles must also undergo proper safety checks. He instructed motorway police to strictly implement prescribed safety standards for every vehicle traveling on national highways and motorways to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Abdul Aleem Khan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the accident. He extended condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for strength and patience for those affected.
