The Punjab Home Department has released a list of proscribed organizations and unregistered charitable institutions, warning citizens not to provide financial assistance to such entities.
In a statement issued in Lahore on February 20, the department said that under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, providing any form of support to banned organizations is a criminal offense. Authorities urged citizens not to donate zakat, charity, or other contributions to unregistered or proscribed organizations.
The department stated that individuals who assist organizations involved in terrorism or anti-state activities will face legal action. It added that all charitable organizations operating in Punjab must register with the Punjab Charity Commission. Citizens have been advised to donate only to institutions registered with the commission.
The statement said that registered organizations can be verified through the QR code printed on their registration certificates. The complete list of proscribed organizations is available on the websites of the Punjab Home Department and the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
The department asked citizens to report any fraud, terrorism-related activity, or fundraising by banned organizations. Complaints can be lodged at the toll-free number 0800-11111 or helpline 042-99213871.
Verification of registered institutions can also be obtained by sending a message to the Punjab Charity Commission WhatsApp number 0313-4995564.
