Private medical college principals in Punjab have asked regulators to push the deadline for filling vacant MBBS seats to February 28.
They made the request during a consultative session on Friday at the University of Health Sciences, where they also agreed to return the full fee to any student who withdraws admission by March 31.
Ahsan Waheed Rathore chaired the meeting, which reviewed the number of empty seats, progress on admissions, and concerns raised by applicants. Colleges had earlier received a February 13 deadline to complete admissions, but several institutions still reported unfilled seats after that date.
Participants decided to forward a proposal to extend the deadline to February 28 to the Provincial Admission Committee for consideration. The proposed change follows a recent revision in the overall admissions schedule issued by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
The meeting also addressed transfer and refund matters. Students who choose to withdraw their admission by March 31 will receive a full refund without deductions. Those seeking to move to another college must obtain a no objection certificate from their current institution. Colleges have been directed not to withhold these certificates until February 24.
If the Provincial Admission Committee approves the extension, private medical colleges will fill remaining seats between February 24 and February 28. Participants indicated that they do not intend to seek any further extension beyond that period.

Pl don’t get admission in private medical college. U will invest more than 2 cror and U will not be able to get job in public sector because in punjab more than 30000 thousand doctors are job less and govt has closed the jobs. U will be only able to get job in Pvt sector with 30000 to 40000 thousand per month
The fever is over finally. Great no need to spend 1.5 crore on a worthless degree in a country that refuses to update its Doctors recruitment number to handle population.
You can do a USA public university bachelors for that amount and have plenty of job options…
Mbbs admission
Very good suggestion should be applied on government colleges.
