Pakistani Spinner Breaks 17-Year-Old T20 Record

Leg-spinner Usama Mir broke Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir’s record for the best bowling figures by a Pakistan player in T20 cricket.

Usama Mir delivered a sensational spell of 6 wickets for 8 runs to lead Sialkot to a massive 110-run victory over Lahore Blues in a National T20 Cup 2026 match at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.

His figures of 6-8 are now the best by a Pakistani in T20 cricket, surpassing Tanvir’s previous record of 6-14, which he achieved for Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings during the inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) season in 2008.

For his outstanding bowling performance, Usama Mir was named Player of the Match, having played a pivotal role in Sialkot’s commanding win.
