New Milk Prices Announced for Karachi

The Karachi administration has fixed new maximum prices for fresh milk across the city, with immediate effect.

According to a notification issued by the Office of the Commissioner Karachi Division, dairy farmers will sell milk at a maximum rate of Rs. 215 per liter, wholesalers at Rs. 225 per liter, and retailers at Rs. 240 per liter.

The order has been issued under the Sindh Essential Commodities Price Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 2005, as amended, to regulate milk prices within the local limits of Karachi Division.

The notification directs that no individual or association may issue or display a price list that differs from the notified rates. Authorities have also instructed stakeholders to prominently display the official price list.

It further states that no wholesaler, retailer, or farmer is allowed to sell milk in seer. The administration has also emphasized that milk quality and hygiene must be maintained in accordance with standard operating procedures.

The commissioner’s office has directed all relevant departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with the notified prices.
