The Punjab School Education Department has imposed a ban on new recruitment of School Teacher Interns (STIs).
According to an official notification issued after approval from the Finance Department, the decision aims to ensure effective use of the budget and better management of contracts for already recruited STIs.
The notification states that contracts of currently appointed STIs may be extended. Meanwhile, separate budget approvals have already been granted for Phase-II STI recruitment in each district.
District Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Education Authorities have been directed to provide allocations for vacant positions to ensure implementation based on the specific needs of schools in each district.
It has also been clarified that monthly stipends for STIs will be paid strictly within the approved budget. No requests for additional funds will be accepted.
Through this step, the Education Department aims to ensure efficient budget utilization and proper distribution of human resources across schools.
Officials further stated that efforts will continue to improve the allocation of positions and management of STIs according to school requirements, in order to maintain stability and quality in the education system.
