NCCIA Arrests Gang Selling Sensitive Pakistani Data Online

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), in a joint operation with security agencies, has arrested the main suspect behind a gang accused of selling sensitive data of Pakistani citizens on social media platforms.

According to officials, the gang had been publicizing and selling personal data, which enabled foreign agencies to access sensitive information. The arrested suspect, identified as Bilal, was allegedly involved in the illegal sale of citizens’ personal data along with other members of the group.

Authorities said the operation was carried out based on human intelligence, leading to Bilal’s arrest. Further investigations are currently underway to uncover the full scope of the network.

NCCIA officials confirmed that raid operations are still ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang and individuals suspected of involvement. The operation is targeting those who were in contact with the group and may have facilitated the illegal data sales.

An FIR has been registered against Bilal, and legal proceedings have been initiated. The NCCIA stated that all facilitators involved in the activity will be brought to justice and held accountable under the law.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Pakistan’s digital security and sovereignty. The Director General of the NCCIA emphasized that no individual will be allowed to compromise the country’s digital assets or reputation. Authorities added that clear legal provisions are in place, and strict constitutional action will be taken against those found guilty.
