RawalPindiz Remain Winless After Heavy Defeat to Quetta Gladiators in PSL 11

RawalPindiz’s struggles in Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) continued as they suffered a heavy 61-run defeat to Quetta Gladiators in the 18th match at the National Bank Stadium.

Chasing a challenging 184-run target, RawalPindiz failed to build momentum and were bowled out for 121 in 17.3 overs, extending their winless run in the tournament.

Saad Masood showed brief resistance with a quick 31 off 19 balls, while Daryl Mitchell added a cautious 30 from 32 deliveries. Yasir Khan (22) and Abdullah Fazal (20) were the only other batters to reach double figures, highlighting the team’s overall batting struggle.

Quetta Gladiators’ bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Usman Tariq, Jahandad Khan, and captain Saud Shakeel taking two wickets each. Kashif Bhatti and Abrar Ahmed chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators posted a competitive total of 182-6 in their 20 overs after being put in to bat.

They had a slow start, losing debutant opener Sam Harper for eight on the first ball of the fourth over with the score at 22. However, Rilee Rossouw steadied the innings with a well-compiled 53 off 42 balls, including six fours and a six. He shared an 87-run partnership for the second wicket with Saud Shakeel, who scored 42 off 39 deliveries.

Mubasir Khan broke the partnership by dismissing Rossouw in the 15th over, while Saud Shakeel fell in the following over to Ben Sears.

Mohammad Amir then struck twice, removing Khawaja Nafay and Bevon Jacobs to reduce Quetta to 156-6 in 16.2 overs.

Despite the setbacks, Hasan Nawaz provided late acceleration with a quick 39 off 16 balls, hitting five sixes before falling in the final over to Sears. Jahandad Khan added an unbeaten 21 off just six deliveries, including two sixes and two fours, to push the total to 182.

For RawalPindiz, Ben Sears was the standout bowler with three wickets for 41 runs, while Mohammad Amir took two and Mubasir Khan claimed one.

The result keeps Quetta comfortably placed in the middle of the PSL standings with two wins from five matches, while RawalPindiz remain at the bottom alongside Hyderabad Kingsmen, both still searching for their first win.
