The Google for Developers, in collaboration with the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan, has launched AI Seekho 2026, a nationwide initiative offering Pakistani youth a chance to win prizes worth Rs2.5 million.
The programme, supported by Telenor and Innovista, aims to equip young developers with artificial intelligence skills through hands-on learning and competitions.
A key highlight of the initiative is a Rs2.5 million prize pool, which will be awarded during a physical hackathon phase.
Participants will compete by building innovative mobile apps using advanced tools like Google Antigravity.
The competition will take place in major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, where shortlisted developers will showcase their projects for rewards and recognition.
In the initial phase, running from April 11 to May 3, participants will join an online challenge to build apps or games using Google AI Studio.
The program is free and includes cloud credits, mentorship, and access to global developer communities.
Speaking about the initiative, CEO, Telenor Pakistan, Awais Vohra, said, “As we evolve beyond connectivity, AI Seekho reflects Telenor Pakistan’s commitment to enabling the country’s digital future through technological innovation and Artificial Intelligence. For a country like Pakistan where 65% of the population is under the age of 30 with 140+ million broadband users, this initiative is particularly powerful as it opens the doors of innovation for creators, developers, and aspiring innovators without limitations. At Telenor Pakistan, we are already translating AI into real-world impact — from helping farmers with smarter, data-driven insights to enhancing customer experiences and driving operational efficiency. Through AI Seekho, we aim to further empower individuals and communities with the skills and tools needed to build, innovate, and shape Pakistan’s digital future.”
Similarly, Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said that the initiative aims to transform Pakistan into an AI-powered economy by equipping youth with cutting-edge digital skills.
