OnePlus and Realme are reportedly preparing to merge into a single operating entity, according to a new report from China. Both companies already operate under the same parent entity, BBK Electronics.
The report said the combined business would be led by Li Jie, who would report directly to Pete Lau, also known as Liu Zuohu. If completed, the move would likely see both brands combine product development, business strategy, and internal resources.
The reported integration could also extend to software development, future product roadmaps, and launch schedules for upcoming devices.
The report added that domestic and international operations would be merged under the new structure. Despite that, OnePlus and Realme are expected to continue operating under their existing brand identities.
Marketing and after-sales services would also reportedly be managed together under the new business unit. Wang Wei is reportedly set to become deputy general manager in the merged structure.
Neither OnePlus nor Realme has officially commented on the reported merger at the time of writing.
