Fuel Sales At Pumps Fall in April After Record Increase in Petrol, Diesel Prices

Pakistan fuel sales reached 1.36 million tons in April 2026, down 7 percent year-on-year  (YoY) and 6 percent month-on-month (MoM).

According to Topline Securities, this is mainly due to a surge in petrol and diesel prices seen in the month.

This takes 10MFY26 sales to 13.8 million tons, which are up 4 percent YoY.

Ex-furnace oil (FO) sales are down 11 percent YoY and 10 percent MoM to 1.22 million tons in April 2026. This takes 10MFY26 Ex-FO sales to 13.2 million tons, up 5 percent YoY.

PSO

Pakistan State Oil (PSO) saw fuel sales drop 5 percent YoY in April 2026 to 591,000 tons from 624,000 tons last year. Compared to March 2026, fuel sales were down 6 percent MoM.

For the 10 months, PSO sales were down 1 percent to 5,828,000 tons compared to 5,885,000 in 10MFY25.

Hascol

Hascol Petroleum Limited (HASCOL) recorded a decline of 26 percent YoY in sales volumes to stand at 35,000 tons in April 2026 compared to 48,000 tons last year.

The 10-month figure recorded a smaller 2 percent YoY decrease to settle at 426,000 tons compared to 436,000 tons in 10MFY25.

Attock Petroleum

Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) and Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (formerly Shell) showed relatively smaller declines.

APL’s volumes clocked in at 119,000 tons, down 6 percent YoY compared to 126,000 tons in April 2025.

APL’s volume dropped 2 percent after 10 months to clock in at 1,131,000 tons compared with 1,160,000 tons in 10MFY25.

WAFI (ex-Shell)

WAFI’s volumes also remained almost flat in April 2026 to clock in at 100,000 tons. Whereas monthly sales decreased 3 percent from 103,000 tons in March. WAFI’s fuel sales were still up 16 percent YoY to 1,100,000 tons during 10MFY266 compared to 950,000 tons in 10MFY25.
