A Glassdoor review from Rockstar India has raised concerns about working conditions during the development of Grand Theft Auto VI.
The review points to unpaid overtime and extended night shifts as developers work to meet the project’s deadline.
Reports of Heavy Workload
According to the review, staff are reportedly expected to complete five to six months of work within a two to three-month period.
The schedule has been described as chaotic since last month, with developers allegedly working late into the night, including shifts that extend to 3 AM after completing regular daytime hours.
Screenshots of the review have circulated on social media, leading to renewed discussions about developer burnout.
A new Rockstar Games review on Glassdoor from an employee working on GTA 6 says:
– They’re expected to complete tasks that usually take 5-6 months in 2-3 months
– Work schedule has been hectic since last month and they’re working overtime

Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly, a YouTuber and industry insider with connections to the Bengaluru studio, said such working conditions are not unusual in the region.
He stated that what is often described as crunch may be considered standard work practice in India.
Reports of intense work periods are consistent with Rockstar’s history.
The company previously faced criticism during the development of Red Dead Redemption 2, where developers reportedly worked up to 100 hours per week in the final stages.
The situation is further influenced by staff reductions, with more than 30 employees reportedly laid off in November.
Release Timeline
Despite earlier delays, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has maintained a November 19, 2026, release target for the game.
Zelnick has acknowledged the high expectations surrounding the launch and said he is concerned about meeting them. The reported working conditions suggest that development teams are under significant pressure as the deadline approaches.
