Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has informed customers about a scheduled maintenance activity to repair a fault in one of its submarine cables. Maintenance work will be done on SEMEWE 4.
The repair work, which will be carried out by the International Cable Consortium, is scheduled to begin on May 11, 2026, and is expected to continue until May 18, 2026.
During this maintenance period, customers may experience degraded internet services, particularly during evening hours. PTCL has cautioned that the ongoing repair work could affect internet quality, resulting in slower speeds and possible service interruptions.
The maintenance is necessary to fix the fault in the submarine cable and is expected to improve the overall quality and reliability of PTCL’s internet services in the long run. While the company is working with the International Cable Consortium to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, users should be prepared for occasional disruptions.
PTCL has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to its customers during this period. The company has assured that the necessary repairs are being carried out to restore the integrity of the submarine cable and ensure better service performance once the maintenance is completed.
StormFiber network wont face any degradation since it runs through multiple upstream providers including but not limited to PEACE.

The same old story. The reason is not submarine cable but somewhat different.
maybe installation of some new inhouse developed crap monitoring system.
Ok, we experience poor internet everyday anyway. What’s new?
