The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has announced the historic launch of the Pakistan National League (PNL), the country’s first professional franchise-based volleyball competition, marking a major milestone for the sport in Pakistan.
The inaugural edition of the league will be held from July 19 to August 5, 2026, in Lahore. It will feature six franchises, with each team including international players alongside leading domestic talent.
Inspired by successful professional league models, PVF believes the PNL will open a new chapter for volleyball in Pakistan by increasing professionalism, strengthening fan engagement, and creating greater career opportunities for athletes.
The league is part of PVF’s broader and ambitious 2026 calendar, which includes major domestic and international events. The season will begin with the 55th National Men’s Volleyball Championship, scheduled for May 19 to 23 at the Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in Wah Cantt. Sixteen leading provincial and departmental teams from across the country will compete for the national title.
Pakistan will also host the Central Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship from July 3 to 10 in Lahore. The tournament will feature teams from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, and Nepal.
As an officially recognized world ranking event, the championship is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s position in Asian volleyball and demonstrate the country’s ability to organize major international sporting events.
Pakistan’s national teams are also set for a busy international campaign in 2026. The U18 team will participate in the AVC Boys’ U18 Championship in Bahrain in July, while the U17 side will compete in the FIVB Boys’ U17 World Championship in Doha in August after qualifying through its gold medal-winning performance at the Asian U16 Championship.
The senior men’s team will represent Pakistan at the Asian Games in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
PVF officials said the packed 2026 schedule reflects the federation’s long-term vision of promoting volleyball nationwide, developing young talent, and establishing Pakistan as a major force in regional and international volleyball.
