As scheduled, Lenovo has unveiled its new 300W Legion GaN charger alongside other product launches, including the Yoga Air 14 Ultra and Legion Y70 smartphone.
While laptop chargers are often overlooked, Lenovo is betting that users want to avoid carrying oversized power bricks.
GaN 4.0 Technology
The Legion 300W GaN adapter uses GaN4.0 technology, which enables high power delivery in a smaller form factor compared to traditional adapters.
Lenovo states the adapter measures just 82 x 82 x 33mm, offering a compact alternative to the bulky chargers that typically accompany high-performance gaming laptops.
Fast Charging and Compatibility
The charger supports Lenovo’s proprietary 20V/15A fast charging protocol and is designed to power Legion gaming laptops operating in performance mode.
It features a three-prong grounded plug, which Lenovo says reduces static leakage. The adapter maintains a stable 300W output within a voltage range of 200V to 240V.
Optional Display
Lenovo has reinforced the Slim square connector and added soft rubber reinforcement around the cable. The adapter includes a 1.5-meter cable.
An optional version comes with a digital display that shows real-time charging power, using Lenovo’s “AI Power” monitoring system.
Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo Legion 300W GaN adapter is priced at 399 yuan (approximately $58) in China.
The adapter is compatible with Legion laptops from 2023 through 2026, including models in the Legion 7000P, 7000X, 9000P, and 9000X series. Lenovo notes that other laptops with its Slim square connector may work, though charging performance may vary based on the system and BIOS.
