DeepSeek has permanently reduced the price of its latest flagship AI model, DeepSeek V4 Pro, by 75%, according to the company’s pricing page, Engadget reported.
The Chinese AI startup had earlier offered the reduction as a temporary discount, but the company has now made the price cut permanent. The promotion was previously scheduled to end on May 31, 2026.
New Pricing
DeepSeek V4 Pro now costs between $0.003625 and $0.87 per one million tokens. Before the reduction, pricing ranged from $0.0145 to $3.48 per one million tokens, the report said.
The move comes about a month after DeepSeek released its V4 models, Pro and Flash. The company had said those models were aimed at bringing a more cost-effective 1M context length to users.
Impact On AI Users
The lower pricing could reduce costs for enterprise customers and power users who process millions of tokens daily. It also positions DeepSeek V4 Pro as a cheaper alternative to major AI models such as OpenAI’s GPT 5 and Google’s recently released Gemini 3.5 Flash.
The price cut could also increase pressure on rival AI companies. Anthropic previously accused DeepSeek of distillation attacks, alleging that the Chinese company improperly learned from Claude’s more capable AI models, according to the report.
