Pre-Budget Shock: Solar Panel, Battery Prices Jump Across Pakistan

Prices of solar panels, inverters, and lithium batteries have risen sharply across Pakistan ahead of the federal Budget 2026-27 as dealers expect higher taxes on all solar equipments next fiscal year.

Solar panel prices have increased by up to Rs.4,000-5,000 per unit even before any official tax chang.

Solar panels in popular capacities of 585W, 645W, and 720W are now selling in the range of Rs. 26,000-33,000, depending on brand and quality.

Other dealers mentioned that many importers and wholesalers are holding back stock.

Solar inverters have become pricier by as much as Rs. 20,000 in some cases. Small residential solar setups (1kW to 3kW systems) are now Rs. 5,000-10,000 more expensive.

Lithium batteries have become up to Rs. 20,000 more expensive. A 5kW lithium battery is currently being sold for around Rs. 260,000-270,000 in the local market.

Dealers attribute the rally to pre-budget uncertainty and expectations of higher taxation on solar imports.

Sellers understand now that any increase in duties or sales tax could further raise installation costs, slow down adoption of solar energy in the coming months.

  • Isn’t it funny. How can prices rise before tax. And taxes are not paid by retailers but consumers
