The first Hangor-class submarine of the Pakistan Navy, PNS/M Hangor, has arrived in Karachi and was welcomed at a reception ceremony held at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard.
According to the Pakistan Navy, the submarine is equipped with advanced combat systems, modern sensors, Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology and enhanced stealth capabilities, which are expected to strengthen the navy’s operational effectiveness.
The navy described the arrival of PNS/M Hangor as a major step in its modernization efforts and a reflection of strategic defense cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Pakistan Navy on the submarine’s arrival, saying the project would enhance the country’s maritime defense capabilities and help safeguard its sea borders and national interests.
He also termed the Hangor submarine program an important milestone in Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen defense capabilities and develop indigenous expertise in the sector.
